SAMANTHA BAILEY

winemaker

BOUTINOT WINES

Spend five minutes with Samantha Bailey and it’s clear she’s an extraordinary woman. As boutinot’s wine ambassador and master blender she divides her time between buying trips, selecting juice for own production wines, and acting as a spokesperson.

She’s credited with having “the best palate in the business” and has been honing her blending and tasting skills since 1990…which came in handy when we started making our very first beer!

He’s a pretty well qualified chap, our James. Having 19 years of brewing experience, he’s also a qualified Master Brewer not to mention a Chartered Brewing Scientist!

Throughout his career, he’s been involved in brewing innovation across new products and technologies for various companies, but in 2017 decided to follow his own beery dream and started his own brewing company, Jabru BevCo., based in Guildford, UK.

Biographies. “Open” by Andre Agassi, “Shoe Dog” by Phil Knight (the Nike story), “Long Walk to Freedom” by Nelson Mandela & “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson are my favourites - all are about overcoming adversity to reach your ultimate goal.

ROBERT WICKS

FOUNDER

WESTERHAM BREWERY

Some people just start young… having established Westerham Brewery in January 2004, Robert's background isn't what you might expect. "I was in investment banking for 16 years," he explains, "but I've been brewing since I was eight years old."

His passion for home-brewing was the catalyst for starting a business that has brought back the rich real ale heritage to the area around Westerham in Kent, supporting local farmers and making good use of fantastic home-grown Kentish hops.

ERIC MONNIN

winemaker

BOUTINOT WINES

Harley Davidson-driving, snowboarder Eric has been with Boutinot since 2004, and is affectionately known as ‘the flying winemaker’. His job takes him across northern and southern hemispheres, visiting vineyards, discovering, tasting and making wines with partner growers as well as for Boutinot itself.

His love of experimentation and flavour (plus the synergies across winemaking & brewing) makes him the perfect person to collaborate with our partner brewers in the crafting of our beers.
